How to take screenshots in wlo

Hello, this is a "how to" guide to help you to take screenshots in the game, and then publish it in the Wonderland Online Forums to take take screenshots and publish it in the forum, you will need the next items.


1- a Computer (you must have one if you are reading this)
2- software to edit your picture if needed (Mspaint, Photoshop)
3- the WLO Client Installed in the Computer
4- an Account (to play WLO, and to login in the WLO forum)

Note: if you don't have an Account or the client installed check this to find
instructions of how to get an account and the WLO client

If you have gather all the components then let's begin. To take Screenshots I'll list 2 very easy methods.


First Method "Alt + P"

This method use the in-game engine to take the screenshot, and it's a very quick way of get a sequence of pictures, to activated it, press the keys "Alt + P" in your keyboard

The game engine will take the Screenshot of what is showed in the game screen and save it in the "Photo" folder located inside the folder where you installed the game, normally "C:\program files\Wonderland Online\Photo" if you look inside that folder you will find all the screenshots captured with this method with a name in the next format "MMDDHHMMSS.bmp" where "MM" is the month, "DD" is the day, "HH" is the hour, "MM" is the minutes, "SS" is the seconds of the moment when you take that Screenshot and ".bmp" is the file extension.



Second Method "Impr pant PetSis" key

This method is a bit more complicated, and not recommended if you want to take a quick sequence of pictures, with this method you need to have some image edition software (like Mspaint) open to save the screenshot. To activated it, Press the key "Impr pant petSis" in your key board.


This will take a screeshot of your full screen, to save it now open your "image edition software" (mspaint works fine here) and now just press the keys "ctrl + v" this will paste the screenshot in the working area in your "image edition software" now just save it, and you had take a screenshot of your game.


Note: if you press the keys "Alt Gr + Impr pant PetSis" you will take a screenshot of the active window.


Now you have your screenshots it's time to publish it in the WLO Forum but, how to do it? don't worry I'll list you the 2 methods that the WLO forum allow.


First method "Forum Attachment"

This is the most quick method, because you upload your Screenshot (or Any picture) through the forum, and will be available always (except if the forum is down), to use it you will need to be in the "advance reply mode", if you use the "quick reply/thread" option you won't be available to use this option.


just click "examinar","browse" button this will open a window directed to your file system, search your screenshot, select it and click "abrir", "open"



to insert the attachment in any place of your post, just click the "insert" option this will place the attachment in the place where the cursor is located
you can attach any quantity of pictures, just click in "browse" for each picture.


When you edit your post, you will see the attachments at the end of the "edit panel"


here you will see,
- "del?" the option to delete the attachment, click it and when you click in the edit button the attachment will be deleted
- "aid" this number identify the attachment
- "Update" when you click this, you can re-upload the attachment (when you make a change in the picture, just click here and you can replace the old with the new)
- "Insert" if you want to change the place in the topic where you attachment show. (this insert the code [attachimg]aid of your attach[/attachimg] in the place where
your cursor is located)
- "count" the number of times that the attachment was downloaded.

With this method the attachment is stored in the IGG server, so the attachment will be available all the time.

Second method "Image Host"

On internet you will find websites dedicated to the hosting of pictures some of they are the following:
http://photobucket.com/
http://www.imageshack.us/
http://www.tinypic.com/
http://www.flickr.com

they are free, and is easy to get an Account, some of these sites allow you to host the image without an account but is recommended to get an account to avoid the lose of the pictures for time. let's see an example with http://www.imageshack.us


the WLO forum use the "[img][/img]" code to link the picture hosted in other website, you will need the "direct Url" then you can use the "[ img ]http://www. the direct url.com [ /img ]" or from the "advance edit panel" just click the "image" button and then write the url, of your image


now you now the basics of how to attach pictures to the forum, but before the end some tips.

1- the Screenshots saved in the "photo" folder with the "alt+p" method are saved in bmp format this format use a lot of bytes, sometimes megabytes, if you upload
this pictures to the forum the load of the thread will be slow, so before uploading it to the forum, edit it in any "image software editor" and save it with
other format, I recommend .jpg (the image will lose quality but is very light) .png (good quality and allow transparencies)

2- when you save the screenshot with the "alt+p" method the game engine, print in the picture info like the IP address, and date is recommended to delete this
info you can do it from the "image software editor" using the "rectangle tool" in your software.
