Though not very obvious, lighting is one of the most important elements of a room. It is very important to make sure that the room is lit appropriately.

A task light should be preferred in work areas like kitchen, home office and bathroom. One can also add dimmers. A crisp white light is the one that is commonly preferred. One must avoid lights that are too fluorescent or too yellow. Lights are one of the decorative accessories. Hence most of them should look good even when they are off.
 
To maximize the amount of light in the bathroom one shouldn’t use dark colors. Large mirrors can help reflect more light. Excess clutter should be avoided in the bathroom. Glass containers can be used to display items. Proper task lighting should be added around the vanity for grooming. An overhead fixture can be used as a fill light for the bathroom.
